TechniCAL Acquires Ecklund
On December 30, 2021, TechniCAL, LLC acquired the Thermocouple Business from Ecklund Harrison Technologies. TechniCAL will take over all sales, manufacturing, and support of Ecklund Thermocouple equipment as of January 1, 2022.
Ecklund was founded in 1947 by O. Fred Ecklund as "OF Ecklund Thermocouples, Inc." and sold a modular thermocouple system for conducting heat penetration testing in retorted canned foods. The company was purchased in 1977 by Len Darsey, then in 2006 by Dan & Kathy Highbaugh. TechniCAL has now acquired the business from Dan & Kathy.
TechniCAL was founded in 1972 and is the leading independent Process Authority in the retorted foods industry. TechniCAL's CALPlex datalogger and CALSoft software work with Ecklund's wired thermocouple system for Process Authorities around the world for conducting heat penetration and temperature distribution in retorted foods.
Moving forward, TechniCAL will continue to manufacture the same high quality thermocouple equipment that Ecklund has provided since 1947. We will also offer the same personal support that Ecklund has been known for. Our team of Process Authorities is available to answer your questions about data collection equipment, put together a set of equipment to meet your needs, and even provide training on using the sysetm.
TechniCAL has developed an online catalog of our complete WIRED data collection equipment system, including all Ecklund thermocouples, receptacles, connectors, wires, and tools.. along with our CALPlex datalogger and CALSoft software. Send in your old wires or Steritort equipment for repair through our online "Repair Center".
